Elie Saab never fails to amaze with his glamorous avant-garde haute couture creations, this year’s latest Paris Haute Couture show was no different. Emphasis on craftsmanship was advocated by Saab and the atelier team from this collection with the most intricate dress featuring 9,000 hand worked sequins and crystals.
Channelling 1920’s glitz and glamour from an array of extravagant party dresses accompanied by bejewelled headwear. Saab places heavy emphasis on detailed components including feathers, intricate beadwork and sequins inspired by the energetic attitudes of women during the jazz age paying homage to such an influential era within fashion, in addition to embroideries depicting distinct Art Deco Motifs. Acquiring one of Elie Saab’s showpieces would be something of a fairytale, but I’ll just have to settle for admiring behind a laptop screen!
